The UK has a real opportunity to bring new technologies into mainstream use that can benefit farmers while tackling pollution, addressing "Farming Rules for Water" and the ongoing application of urea. All the while helping to decarbonise the end-to-end food system, responsible for more than a quarter of total GHG emissions.
A timely moment given Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) today announced that “pioneering new technologies to manufacture more organic-based fertiliser products” could be included in ELMS/Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI).
